
Phil Granger - Music Director and Lead Trumpet
Phil has been with Jay Black & The Americans since May of 1989. In addition to his responsibilities as Music Director
and Lead Trumpet player, Phil also does the arranging and orchestrating for new songs, and the Music Coordination for all
of Jay’s work. He has played with numerous groups in the area and on tour.
Phil has played extensively for Broadway shows for the past 23 years, and enjoyed playing Alan Menkin’s “A Christmas Carol”
each holiday season at Madison Square Garden for ten years. Phil also performs for the seasonal production of “How The
Grinch Stole Christmas” each holiday season.
One of Phil’s most enjoyable endeavors is playing with the tribute band “Stealin’ Dan”. A group made up of some of the
best players in the tri-state area.
In addition, Phil has recorded numerous Broadway cast albums and movie soundtracks. He also records for television shows,
commercials, and pop artists on a regular basis.
Phil is the president and founder of The Granger Group, Inc., an all-inclusive music production company.
Phil Granger lives on the north shore of Long Island with his wife Leslie, and their four children.
